A challenge us literary-types can get into

Find an earlier footnote, win a fancy dinner

Though in all honesty, I think I'm too lazy for this....

This is so wrong, but somehow so right

29 (The other tests are equally addicting, if, like me, you love such useless things)

Also, in case anyone missed the top 25 songs of 2007, here they are, distilled into 1 five minute chunk of awesomeness. Happy New Year!

Is this still the SLIS Procrastination Blog? Or, the Blog Formerly Known as the SLIS Procrastination Blog?

Just to start a discussion, the title of this blog is a bit misleading as all of the posters are now practicing procrastination at some other location. I don't have a good title to offer up at this time, but perhaps a new title is in order. Also, the Rejection Letter count is a bit outdated. Just some thoughts.

Is anyone familiar with "cat macros?"

Sorry, I know, two posts in under 20 minutes, I should be doing something productive, blah blah blah....

So, anyway, I think some of us know about cat macros with their particular brand of "catois." But with us librarians being so cool and all, I was thrilled to see lolbrarians!

Goodreads for Good Librarians!

Perhaps some of you already know about this site, but I just learned about it.

According to their "about us" page, "On Goodreads, when a person adds a book to the site, all their friends can see what they thought of it. It’s common sense. People are more likely to get excited about a book their friend recommends than a suggestion from a stranger." It sounds like a good way to keep in touch and get suggestions for new (or not-so-new) books to read.

For those of us who are still unemployed, here's one more thing we can do to keep busy... or procrastinate when we should be working on job applications!

One problem: They mention they have a "Chief Librarian," but she doesn't have her MLS. Tsk, tsk.

Let me know if you're signed up so we can share lists!

my only friend, the end

I swear I was really working when I stumbled across this link and then this link today.

I was trying to figure out a good way to describe how to subscribe to a feed in 3 seconds, which is hard with IE (stupid microsoft!), and I guess I clicked one too many times.

Gorilla Librarian

In keeping with the previous monkey-themed post... for anyone who didn't see this fun link from American Libraries Direct.

Hope none of us has to go to these lengths during the job hunt!
