Brother can you spare a hood?
Two years ago I thought I was being sensible by not purchasing Master's graduation regalia that I'd never wear again. Turns out that at my current job I'm supposed to attend the graduation ceremony every year...in full regalia. Which I don't own. Gah.
I'm getting the cap and gown off eBay but am not sure I'll be able to get a hood in the proper UW/Library Science colors before graduation. I know some of you own them, so would anyone be willing to lend theirs to me? I know it's inconvenient because you'll have to mail it, but I'll pay you for your shipping expenses.

ALA 2009: Chicago
I just got the latest issue of American Libraries in the mail the other day, with the preliminary program for ALA 2009. Who all is planning on going? I figure the Wisconsin contingent should be well represented.
I've been saving my pennies and I think I'll be able to make the trip, as long as I can find a decent flight. I've got plenty of vacation time coming to me.

good thing this lady isn't following my tweets
Apparently some people use Twitter for something other than a "negative-energy release board." Who knew? This lady quit some of her Twitter friends because: "They complain too much for me." How is that even possible?
Anyway, now I know about Qwitter, so if any of you bitches stop following my rage posts I will be notified immediately. And then I will post about the ensuing anger. Bring it.

first three questions i'd ask cabinet nominees if i were on obama's transition team
1. Have you ever employed any undocumented workers at your home?
2. How much money do you owe to the IRS?
3. Are you being investigated by a grand jury?
Sheesh.

Pop Covers
Of books, no less!
There are some hilarious analyses of old paperback cover art over at Pop Sensation--
Thank god Death was her last lover - that makes a much better title than "Herb the Copier Salesman from Wichita is the Last Lover"
Also, ever want to pretend you're GW? Nah, me neither.
