The spouse & the cats & I are unexpectedly moving to a new apartment in 2 weeks (it's a good move, just sudden!) and I need BOXES!! Any tips on where I can get some freebies?

Willie Street Co-op always has free boxes in the entry way. They put all of them out there so be sure to check every few days.
Liquor stores. Call ahead to find out what day of the week they get big shipments and what time to stop in. If you are a frequent patron, they might even set them aside for you.
The best boxes are Xerox boxes with the nice lids. Doesn't your husband work in an office? He should check out his copy machine room or you should check printing offices or computer labs on campus.

Now that I think about it, is "patron" really the right word for liquor store shoppers? Have I been spending too much time at library school?
Me to liquor store dude: "Hey, dude, can I check out this 6-pack of Summit? When's it due back?"
I like "patron"! One can be a patron of the library, a patron of the arts, a patron of Star Liquor or all of the above!
Since Star Liquor has its own little liquor library, I think the term "patron" is especially applicable!
