We'll Say We Knew Him When...

I don't know what has possessed me to post so many reviews lately. Lack of comments should tell me you aren't interested. Still, you should be thrilled to know that Pitchfork Media (yes, that once magical barometer of all things musically cool that has since morphed into a mainstay for a certain part of society's consciousness...enough to be name-dropped on Veronica Mars) loved The White Rabbits' debut album, Fort Nightly. Go ahead, read the review, check out their myspace page (http://www.myspace.com/whiterabbits) and recall your fond memories of everyone's favorite former librarian turned rockstar drummer.

Well, one of my fond memories is having conversations with him about our mutual distate for Pitchfork, so I'm enjoying the irony. But anyway, see also the reviews in the Onion (glowing) and the Village Voice (near-glowing). Not to mention they were Artist of the Day on spin.com, and had a Song of the Day on NPR's website (I heart Google News). I always knew that kid was goin' places. :)

Did anyone else watch the video Jamie shot on their trip to SXSW? If you watch to the end, you can see some quick shots of everyone's favorite Memorial Library director. Nice--though odd--little library tie-in there.

Ha! That footage actually came from what was intended to be a promo-type film that he shot for our office. (How's that for quality insider dirt?) It cracked me up to see it in the SXSW film -- glad to see he's still getting mileage out of it.
