A hipper Crowd of Shushers
Everyone reads the NY Times, but I thought I'd post the link, just in case anyone had missed it. Now that we are all cool, and everything, I guess I'm going to have to spend more money on clothes now. -Doug

Doug I was just about to post this! I too am feeling very un-hip; to remedy this, I'm going to get the logo from the Federal Depository Library Program tattooed on my forehead.
And go Michelle!
Michele is the rock star of SLIS! So unbelievably cool.
Once upon a time, I had this dream that I could enter a respectable profession where I'd be considered relatively attractive, well-dressed, and with-it. Even after meeting you guys I figured I still had a chance. But now I return from shopping at the J.C. Penney's summer sale only to learn that New York City is full of hipster librarians?
Maybe I should have become an accountant instead.
Or maybe I should have paid more attention to what Claudia Kishi was wearing in the "Babysitter's Club" books.
Oh well, I guess I still have a chance of seeming hip by the standards of small-town Virginia.
One more thing from the article:
The groups’ members were librarians. Or, in some cases, guybrarians.
“He hates being called that,” said Sarah Murphy
As he should! That term "guybrarians", it's so disrespectful. They aren't mere GUYS, they are MEN, and they should be called MANBRARIANS!
Here here! And I love that Michele got mentioned in a NYT Style section article. My lifelong dream!
I love that we all deem a NY Times mention as cool! How very librarian of us.
According to today's count in the little box the NYT puts next to stories, this story is the #1 most popular story on the site . . .
Three days later and it is still the #3 emailed article. Us librarians sure are good at forwarding stuff around.
