I have a copy of C. S. Forrester's "Poo-Poo and the Dragons" (1942). The illustrations are charming.

I kept a copy of a book I had to read for an Ancient Lit class for way longer than I really wanted it on my shelf. It was hard to let go of "The Golden Ass."
Argh. I cannot comment intelligently or humorously on this post because I can't get the image of a golden ass out of my head.
In my head, the golden ass would resemble the huge butts used in Sir Mix-A-Lot's classic video for the hit song "Baby Got Back."
But that's just me :)
