OK, not really all that fun, but interesting . . .

So, I was reading this NYT article about the new director of the Brooklyn library system,
and she says that when she was in library school, very few of her classmates were in their 20's, and the article acts like that is normal for library school. That certainly wasn't the case at SLIS. Is this really a national trend? If so, any ideas why SLIS is different? She also mentions the lack of minorities in library schools, which certainly does apply to SLIS, though . . .

she sounds like a cool lady with a great vision. but that bit about no young librarians is weird. I think there are maybe more "non-traditional" students at SLIS than in, say, law or b school, but most of our SLISters and brothers are pretty young.
