Procrastinating like I mean it

I am so proud of myself! Rather than working on my newspaper project for 571, or my book repair project for Collection Mgt, or my research paper for Digital Resource Mgt, I spent the last 5 days making this beauty! (Modeled with my cat Mogwai, who is inspecting the foul, 75 cent frame I bought at St. Vinny's)

That is truly wonderful.
Are you going to hang it in a place of honor in your home?
Grandmothers everywhere are smiling.
this opens a whole new world of cross-stitching...
Gorgeous! The cross stitch, and the composition of the photo. The kitty framing the kitty-stool, which in turn frames the frame, which frames the cross stitch. It's so perfect.
So I think we need to institute a new rule for Arts & Crafts night. From now on all projects must include a swear word. After seeing Leah's beautiful example, how can we go on doing crafts with out them.
I agree with Annie. In fact, we should all start modifying adages appropriately. How about:
A stitch in time saves...fuck! I dropped a stitch!
More items like these could liven up the SLIS silent auction next year...
Whoops, hit enter too soon. Leah--where did you find the pattern for that lovely little ditty?
Awww, I'm glad you all enjoy my handiwork!
Kelly- It's a b-day gift for a friend. I put it in the mail today, and hopefully it will hang in a place of honor in his home!
Annie & Katie- Fuck yes!
Deborah- Subversive Cross Stitch, home to many fantabulously dirty patterns! I think "Beeyatch" might be next on my list...
Leah, my friend Krysta wrote an article for our 'zine all about the marvelous-ness of subversive cross stitch.... I will have to tell her that you actually made one (we both lack basic cross-stitch abilities... although my mom once made me a sweatshirt that had a cross-stitch robot saying "hi". I would wear it to the roller rink :))
I think my brother would love it if I managed to cross-stitch swear words into his Christmas stocking. However, I think my mother would NOT love it. Too bad! Maybe, when (if?) I finish the stocking, I can make him a subversive cross-stitch too!
