It's a trick. I figured it out, but I'm not giving it away.
I thought I had it figured out, but it seemed the program was still too clever for me. Then I discovered the real twist to this program: not the rather simple trick that allows it to predict the symbol you chose, but the fact that the answer key changes every time to disguise this trick. Once you realize the symbols are changing around, the rest is fairly obvious.
